Here in My Life
Hillsong United
You are my freedom, Jesus You're the reason
Where would I be without You, here in my life

Summer time is here, one big word FINALLY!
no more layers and layers of coats, scarfs, 'waking up cold floors', ' showering in hot bathes that makes our skin turns red'.
Before this was Spring, it was good! the later part of spring that is.
Not too hot cause of the leftover-wind-from-winter (HAHA!), not too cold cause the sun was out! So the temperature was just niceee! (:
-
Ni haoooo! :D Ni hao ma?!
Wo hen hao! Zhuo tian wo go guang jie zai 'qi pu lu'. Zhuo de yao suan bei tong
(Yesterday i went to 'qi pu lu', walk till i hips-sore-back-ache?! HAHA)
msn-ing or typing in chinese is so not my forte.
2 secs - think of the right word, 3 seconds to think of how to spell it, 1 second to type it out. 6 seconds just for 1 word! HAHA.

Tried to extend my F visa, at 'Pudong'. Initially got it at 90 days, obviously this isn't gonna last me for 6 months and considering that it's a single trip visa. I go out of China, I can't come in again. ):
It was by a far, wasted trip due to some complications.
smartshanghai.com - will tell you why its far! (In Shangai - smartshanghai becomes your best best friend! HAHA)
So not easy to get the documents that you want done in China eh, registering with the police we had problems, and now this visa thing, we have problems again. BOO HOO! ):
Got 'tuesdays with morries' and the 'five people you meet in heaven' by mitch albom while passing by a road side book seller. I got each book at 10 RMB which equals S$2.20. Good deal Good deal! (: More books next time! haha
(p.s yvonne, you will love this! though i'm sure you've got most of the books that's selling here in sg already)
.
You know, everytime when you ask a local here for directions, they will tell you oh! the place is very near very near. (notice the emphasise on very near) You walk 'straight, you turn left ... ... then you reach'
When we first came, unfamiliar with this area, we thought, good! VERY NEAR!
we happily tig trug on for 10 mins. where is the place? Nevermind find find, walk on walk on.
walk on for another 5 more mins. yes! we finally found the road sign that leads to the place. we are on the right path!
Followed the sign and continued walking for another 5-6 more mins! (By the third min our, excitement and energy level went down by a notch.)
Finally when we got there, too tired too cold to say or do anything, we gave each other the 'got near meh?!' look.

There! you see, Singaporean definition of near and Shanghai-nese definition of near differs by alot!

the sun will set for you

What you are about to see may be gross and bloody! please BEWARE!
please scroll down slowly.
You know about the different kinds of meats that they eat in China e.g rabbit meat, cat meat, dog meat.
Something caught my eye while passing by the street food stalls.

'The Skinning of Snakes'

basket full of live snakes

1 basket for skinned snakes, 1 basket for unskinned snakes, skinning the snakes using her bare hands

the skinning of snakes alive!

skinned snakes waiting to be fried

I literally jumped when sixuan said 'look over there! what are they doing?' I am no fan of snakes. Some passerbys squealed (girls) and quickly scurry off at the bloody sight of it.

Going to put all these snakes pictures into a 'snake' category folder and never to open it unless needed. Saves me from all those 'unneccessary' shock. haha

They skin the snake alive. put them in the tub and while they are still wrigglyyyy and coilinggg, fry them alive! Product is snake meat! Will you try?!
