finished grade 8 already and my sight reading is still as horri-gible.
in my exams, i never counted on sight reading to get my pass/merit or distinction, i usually escaped by counting on my other components in the exam (exam set pieces) to pull me up and usually that worked.
when it comes to 'tau gay' during Sunday meetings, there's always this complacency that i can practice a lil and do it on the spot! but apparently that do not work cause fingers dun fall into position fast enough, plus nervous, pressure and alot of stumbling - the whole thing just screws up.
alot of times it happened alr, and i am always doing nothing about it! 'shermin, pleaseee!'
okay, i admit defeat, i can't sight read for nuts. i will do something about it now! i hope its not too late.
i must make it a point to practice a tune from SA tune book EVERY WEEK. (please remind me or smack me on my head, if i ever forget!)
i will practice it like my exam set pieces and hopefully it sinks into the memory of my fingers.
today it sounded really terrible! painful to the ears cans?! just can't stand it. URRRGGGHH!
utter disappointment.
i'm sorry about today. i'll work on it.
my best for you, Lord.
